Aztec Match Reports & Scorers

Under 8s Braves                                                          Aztec Braves 0 v 2 Kingswood Eagles

Both teams played some good football but Kingswood Eagles just the bit stronger and quicker into the game than the Braves

Under 8s Warriors                                                    Aztec Warriors 0 v 1 Hellenic Fisher

A very close game between to evenly matched teams ,saw Hellenic Fisher just come away with the victory

Under 9s Braves                                                  Weekley Mavericks 1 v 3 Aztec Braves

Haydon Coxon 2 Cameron Hale 1

A decent start to this game from the braves, seen them have most of the possession of the first half.Haydn Coxon was first on the score sheet with a great strike outside of the box.He then made it 2-0 with a very well struck free kick. But the key moment of the half was when Joshua Fortune made a stunning save just before we scored the free kick. The second half was backs against the wall at times and the braves had to defend through long periods, once again Josh made another stunning save which made him MOM today.Weekley scored the third goal of the game but it was just consolation as Cameron Hale scored at the end of a very well constructed move.Well done boys

Under 9s Warriors                                             Weekley Marvels 1 v 2 Aztec Warriors

Naveed Butt 1 Thomas Gudyer 1

Warriors started off half asleep and after a minute into the game or so they found themselves 1-0 down. After that they never looked back and soon equalized through Naveed Butt. Attacking today the warriors looked better with some super link up play.1-1 at half time. The second half was mostly all warriors, and Thomas Gudyer finished a good solo effort to make it 2-1 it could have been 2or3 more we just needed someone just in front of the goal to tap it in. All in all a decent performance from the lads well done.

Under 10s Braves                                          Aztec Braves 5 v 2 Ise Lodge Harriers

John Butler 3 Harry Bindley 1 Daniel Ashpole 1

Aztecs run of poor form finally came to an end today, the first half was very even but it was Aztec that took the lead through stand in striker John Butler. Ise lodge soon made it all square before Dan Ashpole scored direct from a corner and gave Aztec the half time lead. The second half saw Ise Lodge score straight from the kick off before Aztec turned on the style and saw John Butler score two more great goals and complete his Hat-Trick and Harry Bindley get his name on the score sheet.

Under 10s Warriors                                          Aztec Warriors 1 v 2 Ise Lodge Falcons

Reece Martin 1

Warriors were under pressure for most of the match today and the defense was really tested. Aztec held on well in the first half going up the hill but went in 2–0 down at half time, Again the second half was much the same with Aztec creating very few chances, A long kick from Edward West saw Reece Martin latch on and give Warriors hope with a cool finish, unfortunately it was all a little bit too late.

Under 11s Cup S/Final                                        Aztec Youth 4 v 0 Hellenic Fisher

A well spirited game between two good sides. First half was nip and tuck all over the pitch but the deadlock was opened late in the half as good work from Zach Anderson opened a chance for the impressive Robbie Read, who duly knocked the ball in at the back post. Hellenic pushed and created a fantastic chance only to see Joshua Baines Davies pull off a fantastic save. 1-0 half time. Second half and Aztec played down the hill, this was a more controlled half from Aztec who at times played some breathtaking football and through this made chance after chance. 3 chances were converted by Zach Anderson, Jamie Frayne and Ryan Burton. Its well worth a mention that it was impossible to chose a MOM as Aztec had 16 players that could have got it. Well done.

Under 12s  Braves                                         Aztec Braves  4 v  0 Kingswood Kestrels

James Denton 1 Alex Forward 1 James Mason 1 1 own goal

Kingswood began the match in good fashion with some sharp passing moves.  Aztec came into the match and scored through James Denton. Another followed when an unfortunate own goal went in.  In the second half Aztec scored a third when Alex Forward’ shot found the net.  James Mason completed the scoring with a solo effort near the end

Under 12s Warriors                                    Kingswood Ospreys 6 v 2 Aztec Warriors

Wesley Kirton 1 Matthew Hill 1

A game where Aztec competed start to finish, but let in sloppy goals due to loss of concentration. An early Kingswood goal

was quickly equalised by Wesley Kirkton with a fine finish from outside the area. Kingswood then forged ahead with three quick goals, one of which being a debatable penalty to make the half time score 4-1. Bradley Byrnes then scored with a fine effort early in the second half and the game was evenly matched with both teams having chances, Keeper Ben Daniels also was in excellent form. Two late goals made the final score 6-2 which did not do the lads justice for their efforts.

Under 13s                                                 Aztec Youth 3 v 3 Corby Kingswood

Dan Swinden 2 John Bindley 1

A game of football hindered by the wind.this made a difference to both teams. Kingswood soon 2-0 up.aztec fought back with a determind team performance and a goal from John Bindley. After the break Kingswood scored again but with a relentless barrage of attack  from a well  organized Aztec side, Dan Swinden scored 2 to level things up.the post saved corby from defeat with what can only be described as “world class srike” from a throw in from Nadear Hussain, caught fully on the volley by Josh “kingster” King

Under 14s                                                Kingswood Swifts 2 v 6 Aztec Youth

Charlie Hillyer 2 Andrew Coxon 1 Ben Large 1 Callum Plowright 1 Aiden Smith 1

Aztec came back after last weeks defeat with a bang playing some good football  and always looked the stronger side on the day a good win just before cup semi final

Under 15s                                               Aztec Youth 2 v 4 Rockingham Forest

Thomas Coe 1 James McLaren 1

Again without a recognized keeper defender Lewis Wright stood in between the sticks for Aztec The visitors started brightly and took an early 2-0 lead but Aztec heads didn’t drop and they fought right back with two great strikes courtesy of James Mclaren and Thomas Coe for a 2-2 score line at the break

Both sides created good chances in the second period but it was the visitors that capitalized twice more for a 4-2 victory

Under 18s                                                Wellingborough Grammarians 1 v 3 Aztec Youth

Alex Stewart 2 Carl Frayne 1

Aztec keep managing to secure wins in the lge and look as though they could finish up runners up if they win games in hand
